We meet at Adnan Menderes Airport Domestic Terminal at 05:15 for our Flight GAP Tour from İzmir. After completing ticket and baggage procedures, we depart for Adana at 06:40 with Sunexpress Airlines, arriving at Adana Airport at 08:00 after an enjoyable flight. After meeting our vehicle waiting at the airport, we proceed to Kahta district, where we start our tour after having a local breakfast in Adıyaman.
After having our breakfast (extra) at a suitable facility, we see the HISTORICAL STONE BRIDGE, one of the symbols of Adana, panoramically located over the SEYHAN RIVER. Next, we visit the SABANCI CENTRAL MOSQUE, one of the most magnificent places of worship in Turkey. After our visit to the mosque, which stands out with its magnificent architecture and symbolic details, we continue our journey to GAZİANTEP. Our first stop is the GAZİANTEP MUSEUM, where Roman period mosaics, the most important of which is the Gypsy Girl mosaic, extracted from the ancient city of ZEUGMA, are exhibited. The mosaic works we will see, accompanied by mythological stories, will impress us greatly. Then we arrive at the historical bazaar. During our free time here, we can explore Elmacılar Bazaar, Bakırcılar, Sedefçiler Bazaar, Zincirli Bedesten and shop for local products. During our short break at the Historical Tahmis Coffee House, we have the opportunity to taste the famous Menengiç coffee. At the designated time, we gather and head to our hotel. Dinner and accommodation will be at GAZİANTEP SAFİR Hotel.
After breakfast, we leave our hotel and head to HALFETİ, which has a captivating atmosphere with its history and nature, where the Karagül series and the film Eşkiya featuring Şener Şen were filmed. We embark on a magnificent Boat Tour lasting 1 hour on the Birecik Dam Lake. Halfeti is a geography where time is a mosaic of civilizations. While exploring the submerged old Halfeti during the boat tour, we will see Rum Kale, Historical Cave Houses, and the village of Savaşan, most of which are submerged. Afterward, we turn to the mystical HARRAN, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List with its conical domed adobe houses. Here, we visit the ruins of Harran University, considered one of the oldest educational centers in the world, the historic Ulu Mosque, and the uniquely architectured Harran Houses. During brief conversations with the local people, we have the opportunity to learn more about the local culture. At the designated time, we leave here and head towards GÖBEKLİTEPE. We visit the world's first temple - a vital cultural area that caused the rewriting of world history, built 11,500 years ago and mysteriously closed by the people who built it 1,000 years after its construction. Prepare for a time travel with the narration of our guide and the artifacts you will see. Göbeklitepe is also known as the land where chickpeas, lentils, and wheat were first cultivated in the world and where agricultural history began. At the designated time, we leave here and arrive in ŞANLIURFA. After visiting the cave where the prophet HZ. İBRAHİM was born, the place where he was thrown into the fire, BALIKLIGÖL, AYN-IZELİHA LAKE, RIZVANİYE and HALİL-ÜRRAHMAN MOSQUES, we have free time in the historical bazaar for shopping and purchasing local products. Then we go to our hotel and settle into our rooms. At the designated time, we go to a local entertainment called SIRA GECESİ for dinner. Accommodation will be at ŞANLIURFA VERA VIP Hotel.
After breakfast, we leave our hotel and head towards MARDİN. Here, we first visit the KASIMİYE MEDRESESİ, one of the most beautiful structures in Mardin. It was started during the Artuqid period and completed in the late 15th century during the reign of Akkoyunlu Sultan Kasım İbn Cihangir. After our visit to the medrese with our guide's explanations, we start our Mardin tour. In the dream city of Mardin, which is a harmony of Mesopotamian cultures and civilizations, we will see ULU MOSQUE, historical structures integrated with Mardin culture and architecture, the narrow streets of Mardin, and Abbaras. We give free time for shopping in the Mardin bazaar. In the bazaar, you can shop for souvenirs such as manuscripts printed with old printing plates unique to the region, copper trays and candlesticks, carpets and handmade felt, prayer beads, scarves, wine, wooden craftsmanship products, almond sweets, roasted chickpeas, mırra coffee pots, and special cups without handles (Gümgüm). At the designated time, we gather in our vehicle and head towards DARA ANCIENT CITY. Historically one of the most important settlements in Upper Mesopotamia, Dara was established in 505 AD as a military garrison city to protect the eastern border of the Eastern Roman Empire against the Sasanids, initiated by Emperor Anastasius (491-518). This historical site, which also hosted the world's first biological warfare, contains the largest historical mass grave in Anatolia and one of the largest water systems. One of the places we will see during our tour is Dara Cistern. After descending the stairs, this area will amaze you with its unique acoustics and depth, and we will take a photo break here before visiting DEYRULZAFARAN SYRIAC MONASTERY. The monastery is built on a complex that was originally a Sun Temple, later used as a fortress by the Romans. After the Romans withdrew from the region, Saint Shleymun brought the bones of some saints here and converted the fortress into a monastery. After our visit to the monastery, which offers a pleasant touring opportunity with its wonderful architecture and stone craftsmanship, we arrive in MIDYAT and settle into our hotel. Dinner and accommodation will be at MIDYAT BAY GRAND Hotel.
After breakfast, we start our Midyat tour. The intricate skills of the stone masters in the region, located within a rich architectural texture, give Midyat an appearance of an Open-Air Museum. You can also find the best examples of the Telkari art, which has been finely crafted by Syrian masters over centuries. While wandering the streets of Midyat, you can shop for telkari, wine, cosmetics, coffee, and almond sweets. Then we visit the MIDYAT GUEST HOUSE, which has hosted many series including ‘’Sıla’’, ‘’Adını Kalbime Yazdım’’ and ‘’Hercai’’. We arrive at HASANKEYF. Hasankeyf, which has a history dating back to ancient times and has been a crossroads of civilizations throughout history, has recently been submerged due to the filling of the Ilısu dam, and during this process, historical artifacts have been moved to New Hasankeyf. Here, while viewing the historical city from a wide angle, we also see thousands of natural beauties like caves. Afterward, we arrive in DİYARBAKIR. The DİYARBAKIR WALLS, the largest man-made structure visible from space after the Great Wall of China, greet us. We receive information about the walls from our guide. We have our lunch with a menu consisting of local delicacies. After lunch, we visit the house of CAHİT SITKI TARANCI, a poet and writer from Diyarbakır who holds an important place in Turkish literature, which is now used as a museum. Then we visit the ULU MOSQUE, one of the most important structures in the city and Anatolia, as it is the fifth Harem-i Şerif of Islam. After our guide's narration in the mosque courtyard, we take our photos and head to HASANPAŞA HANI, one of the most frequented places in Diyarbakır. After enjoying our tea and coffee here, we continue our exploration of Diyarbakır. During our walk through the historic streets and avenues, we first see the FOUR-LEGGED MINARET, which is unique in its kind, and then visit the DENGBEJLER HOUSE, where the beautiful examples of the Dengbej culture, which preserves the Kurdish oral literature tradition, are kept, and SÜLÜKLÜ HAN. Afterward, we see the ON GÖZLÜ KÖPRÜ and take our photos before heading to our hotel to settle into our rooms. Dinner and accommodation will be at DİYARBAKIR BLACKHAN PALACE and REMPART Hotel.
After having breakfast at our hotel, we set off to KAHTA. Here, we begin our ascent to NEMRUT MOUNTAIN with the minibuses waiting for us. We reach the monumental tomb built by the crazy and idealistic king Antiochus on the summit of the Taurus Mountains, at an altitude of 2150 m. Here, we see the East and West Terraces, the statues of Zeus-Oramastes, Apollon-Mithras, Herakles-Artaganes, the goddess Kommagene, King Antiochos, and the guardian Lion-Eagle statues while enjoying the magnificent view. Then we return to our bus with the minibuses and head towards ADANA. After dropping off our flight guests at the airport, we begin our return journey.
