Visa-Free Travel Opportunity: Azerbaijan-Baku Tour

We meet at the International Terminal of Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport according to the information provided by Gezi Tutkunları one day prior. After completing check-in and luggage procedures, we take our Pegasus Airlines flight number PC1790 at 23:15 for a direct flight from Izmir to Baku. We arrive at 03:05 local time the next day and transfer to our vehicle. After settling into the hotel, we have the opportunity to rest.

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off to explore Baku, the center of the Caucasus. Our first stop is Highland Park, one of the highest points in the city, offering a view of the Caspian Sea. Here, we visit the Baku Turkish Martyrs' Cemetery, dedicated to the 1132 Turkish soldiers who lost their lives for Azerbaijan's independence in 1918, and say our prayers. Depending on the weather, we may use the historic Baku Funicular while ascending or descending Highland Park. (Funicular fee is extra) After completing our panoramic tour under the shadow of the Flame Towers, we enter the walls of the Old City (İçərişəhər), where time stands still. In these UNESCO-protected labyrinthine streets, we will explore the Shirvanshahs' Palace, the mysterious Maiden Tower, and the world's first Miniature Book Museum. After a journey through medieval legends narrated by our guide, we spend some free time at Nizami Street (Torgovaya) and Fountain Square, which reflect the modern face of the city with famous brands and stylish restaurants. The highlight of the day will be the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, designed by the famous architect Zaha Hadid, known for its futuristic structure. After taking photos of the center's impressive architecture, we take souvenir photos in front of the famous 'I Love Baku' sign in the garden. We return to our hotel to unwind from the day's fatigue. After breakfast at our hotel, we head towards the Absheron Peninsula to discover ancient secrets beneath the surface. Our first stop is Ateshgah, one of the three major Zoroastrian temples in the world, meaning 'Fire Temple'. For centuries, this sacred place has been a place of worship for Indian traders and dervishes, and we will listen to the impressive story of the central altar that has not extinguished for centuries in the silence of the stone rooms. After witnessing how faith and fire have come together throughout history, we head to Yanardag, a natural wonder. Here, we will observe the flames that burn continuously due to natural gas rising from underground, the most striking evidence of Azerbaijan being called the 'Land of Fire'. After a photo break at this mesmerizing stop, we leave the mystical atmosphere of Absheron to experience the modern silhouette and seaside enjoyment of Baku by returning to the city center, Baku Boulevard. Here, the romantic atmosphere filled with canals and bridges awaits us at Mini Venice by the Caspian Sea. Guests who wish can take a short gondola ride through these water canals or observe the city and sea from a different angle with the giant Ferris wheel Baku Eye nearby. During our free time, we will head to the shopping and lifestyle center Sea Mall, whose architecture resembles a giant oyster shell shining over the Caspian. After breakfast at our hotel, we set off, bidding a brief farewell to the modern face of Baku. Our first stop is Gobustan National Park, a silent witness to human history and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon reaching this ancient area, located 65 km outside the city, we will embark on a time travel among over 6000 petroglyphs and ancient cave writings dating back to the Bronze Age. After flipping through the dusty pages of history, we head to the Mud Volcanoes region, one of the rare natural phenomena in the world. In this area, which hosts half of the mud volcanoes in the world, you will feel as if you are walking in space, among 'Moon craters'. After observing the lively volcanic activities and this mesmerizing play of nature, we begin our return to Baku. After a lunch break, we visit the Bibi Heybat Mosque, where spiritual tranquility meets architectural grandeur. This sacred site, which also houses the tomb of Hz. Muhammad's granddaughter, Hekime Khanım, will impress you with both its faith tourism and its magnificent stance by the Caspian Sea. Then, we will witness Azerbaijan's 'Black Gold' story by visiting the historical site where industrial oil was first extracted in the world, changing the fate of the region. We conclude the day not with an ordinary meal, but with a special gala night included in the price - where you will feel Azerbaijan's hospitality to the core, blending traditional cuisine and local music.
